SUSTAINABILITY AT KOYORI

Since its founding, KOYORI has been committed to creating furniture through processes that are both sustainable and transparent. Guided by respect for materials, people, and the environment, we aim to connect craftsmanship and care with a responsible future.

Heritage and Responsibility in Craftsmanship

KOYORI’s select manufacturers carry legacies of outstanding craftsmanship combined with advanced technologies, while respecting and caring for people, nature, the environment, and materials. They take pride in inheriting the ideas, knowledge, and techniques of their predecessors, with a strong sense of responsibility to pass this legacy on to the next generation.
These enduring values in craftsmanship result in products made to last for generations — pieces that embody both the spirit of their makers and the care invested in every detail. Creating furniture that endures and adds value over time also helps reduce environmental impact by minimizing the need for replacement and waste.
KOYORI aims to carry forward the beauty, creativity, and authenticity of Japanese craftsmanship and share it with the international market.

Carbon Footprint Transparency and Offsetting

As part of our ongoing effort to build carbon footprint transparency, KOYORI has been continuously measuring the CO₂ emissions generated by its products, with results published on the official website. The calculation is conducted using The 2030 Calculator, an independent tool that visualizes product-level emissions.

KOYORI offsets the CO₂ emissions generated by the manufacturing process each year through More Trees, a forest conservation organization founded by the late Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto. The CO₂ emitted through our corporate activities is absorbed by the “More Trees Forests,” contributing to reforestation and conservation projects. In 2025, KOYORI further expanded its efforts by including the offset of CO₂ emissions generated by international transportation, taking another step toward reducing environmental impact across the entire product life cycle.

Commitment to Sustainable Sourcing and Global Standards

KOYORI products are made using responsibly sourced materials. Furthermore, we share and support the purpose of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and are committed to conducting our business in line with its principles.
By adhering to these values, we continue to take actions that align with the goals of preventing deforestation and ensuring the responsible sourcing of materials.
With transparency, accountability, and respect for nature at every stage of production and sourcing, KOYORI continues to pursue a sustainable path that connects craftsmanship with global environmental responsibility.

Looking Ahead

At KOYORI, sustainability is not a single initiative but a continuous commitment.
Through craftsmanship that endures, transparent processes, and responsible material use, we strive to build a future grounded in craftsmanship, transparency, and environmental responsibility.
